Ben Lyons - Writer Bio

 Ben Lyons is a 34-year-old graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Fascinated by ships since he was 5, he has been on more than 55 cruises, ranging from clipper ships in Thailand to Mississippi riverboats and Caribbean megaships. He became the first American officer ever in Cunard Line's history when he joined Queen Mary 2, which he left after 5 years as the liner's Chief Officer. As Chief Officer and Captain onboard Lindblad Expedition’s National Geographic Explorer, he has sailed in some of the most remote waters in the world, including Antarctica and the ArcticLyons also holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
